Bravery and Anticipation

Guess what we did today..........SWIM--imagine that! Many tricks and feats of bravery were demonstrated.
back-flips--duo jumps--
independent don't catch me I've got it under control in my tube jumps---
and run as fast as you can from as far away as possible soars by this guy...
So what should we do after a long afternoon of swimming at grandma and grandpa's? Well, how about obliging the begging children who want to swim in Troy and Monica's new pond/pool...

I'm so thankful the kids love the water---and happy we're able to use our family's resources. Maybe someday our kids will get a pool of their own.
Now to the anticipation. The boys are beyond excited for the fourth of July! We've been trying to ease Alexis into it but despite her bravery in the water the sound of the fireworks is just a bit to frightening--she puts a death-grip on, wrapping both her arms and legs around whomever is holding her and jumps like a firecracker at any POP! Let's hope she can withstand the home-grown show tomorrow. Braeden has been a firework maniac since he was about 2 years old---never afraid but always wanting more! He even used some of his own money to buy fireworks this year. He and Braxton have spent quiet awhile sorting them, resorting them, admiring them and contemplating what they will look like. Braeden has been lighting fireworks on his own for several years and can hardly stand the wait.
Some notable quotes from Braeden this year regarding fireworks:
while lighting and proceeding to throw a firecracker he says to his same-age girl friends---"look out guys, this is dangerous."
after spending more than usual at the firework stand... I say something along the lines of: well I guess we won't be going on vacation guys, Braeden: why? Me: cause dad just spent all our money on fireworks. Braeden: a long pause then "oh well!"
Here's to a safe and happy celebration of our nations birthday!
