DC....day 2

On day two of DC we went back to the Smithsonian: first the Air and Space Museum then the Natural History Museum.
A couple of highlights:
*checking out the air and space hands on experiences
*making and competing in a paper airplane contest....my first thought was REALLY? Can't we make paper planes at home? But a contest in the air and space museum: SO COOL!

*seeing "Rexy" and the Easter Island head (dumb-dumb you bring me gum-gum) from the Night at
    the Museum movies

*Checking out the fossils and jewels
*Honestly they loved so much of it! Braeden was so disappointed that we could not spend more time in the museums. He would have enjoyed exploring them for days.

We visited Ford's theater where Lincoln was shot.
And last we checked out the White House. While driving around on day one the kids experienced the shut down of DC streets to allow for movement of the president. We talked about secret service and the reasoning behind multiple limos. They were constantly checking the flag on the White House to see if Obama was home or away. (Alexis thought that it literally meant he was inside the home.)

DC rocked! It was even better than I remembered. I loved seeing it with older eyes and I am so happy our kids loved it too.
