Braxton has been reluctant about extracurricular activities besides swimming. Generally, he doesn't like his time interrupted but he did express an interest in "karate" so we jumped on board before he changed his mind.
We did family photos last week so he had two classes this week. Prior to the first of those he piped in that he doesn't really like Tae Kwon Do (mind you he's had one class). We did some exploring and he said that they kick in the face. I assured him that we would NOT let anyone kick him in the face.We made a deal that he had to go AND be happy about it or else he'd lose electronics. I had a sneaking suspicion that he'd enjoy it if he just stuck with it.
Following night one he said he did have fun and that the teacher just said he'd kick someone in the face---he didn't actually do it. To clarify: the older kids assist the newer students and the teacher has joked telling Braxton if they (the older student) makes contact with Braxton to tell him and he'll "kick 'em in the face". After night two Braxton is feeling vested and ready to buy his uniform. His teacher told him he'll be ready to test for his yellow belt come August.
