Pre school

Alexis started preschool today!
She's been excited for school to start for months! She received a postcard from her teacher several weeks ago...
she asked us to read it to her again and again. We met her teacher and played a bit last week.
She took special care to do her best coloring on her take home folder and was a little disappointed when we told her we'd have to leave for the day.
Lately she's been practicing writing her name...
and doing her "journal"
(Evidentially she heard me talk to the boys about journaling throughout the summer and assumed going to school means you will journal.) She made comments for about a month that her teacher will be so proud of her journal and she has asked if she can/should take it to school?
While we waited in the hall we heard LOTS of crying....
so I leaned down and told her she could be a good helper to her teacher and comfort her new fearful friends. She went in eager and happy!
She was told to find an animal at the circle and wait for the rest of her friends to arrive.
She told me on the way to school that she was pretending to go to first grade and she wanted to know how long she goes to preschool---a couple hours was not the answer she was looking for. She wanted to know when she gets to start school like the boys! Too funny, but Alexis don't grow up too fast as I need you little for a while longer.
highlights from her day: enjoying a popsicle snack, playing on the tire swing, making her hand prints, music: singing itsy bitsy spider, reading "chicka, chicka boom boom", playing dollies and kitchen.
